June 9th

DRUNK AND FUCKED

The girls, they come and go
But all the time the liquor flows
From feeling low, then up, then down
All in a night on the town
And morning’s remorse of nights before
Never keeps me from one drink more

The boys will stop and I’ll still go
Keeping heavy that holy flow
Of poison potent sickening bliss
That hurts so much and yet I miss
The feeling of nothing, drunk and fucked
Tomorrow will come with any luck

SAD SONG

Strange that a song will do this
Range of sound conveys sad mood
Reminding me of what I miss
Quite suddenly and quite rude

Words add a context for you
Either to imagine or relate
Memories or a feeling so new
Love, and pain, envy and hate.

It told our story to a tee
And brought back the pain
That had shortly left me
While I returned to sane

Next time I’ll change the fucking track
Not worth the memories that it brought back

WISDOM

The more one knows, the more they know how much they don’t
Try as one might they certainly won’t

Encompass anything, or one thing at all
And the wise will be first to recall

Not only what they know but what they know not
And be truly humbled at the thought

No one can examine the forest and the tree
For the tree is too narrow, the forest too large to see

So to always be right is more to be blind
The wise will tell you, open your mind

PAINT ON THE WALL

Controlling forces govern best in favor of themselves
Polluting isn’t a crime but to steal a loaf from a shelf

For the most part the poor will stay poor
And the rich wont’ decline nor
Give back what’s been given to them

They stand not on the shoulder of giants
But on the backs of a mass of subordinants
Who move on a word with without defiance

For from time to time
The man on the top feeds the lowliest one
Who can barely feed their daughters and their sons

So why do we shun a vandal for some paint on a wall
But never count the tress that from forestry will fall
The answer lies with those in charge
With vested interests by and large
